Here's a simple and silly way to alway remember what notes are what, whatever fret or strong you are on.
If you follow these steps you will work it out much quicker!
STEP 1: Start with the open string name
E A D G B E
Every Ape Deserves Green Bananas Everyday
STEP 2: Every note is 2 frets apart
There are only 7 key notes is all music...A, b, c, D, e, f, G
STEP 3: Except e-f and b-c
Eiffel + Biscuit
(ef) (bc)
That's right!
Eiffel + Biscuit is one of the simplest and most effective ways to remember the notes on the guitar fretboard.
Sure its silly phrase and doesn't mean anything - but it will help you remember what notes are what.
Every note - of the 7 notes in music (A, b, c, D, e, f, G) - going up the alphabet - are 2 frets apart, except:
Eiffel + Biscuit
(ef) (bc)
And if you come up with a simpler or better way to remember , please let us know!
